surprises and secrets

Life is Like a box of Chocolates, never know what you're gonna get.
So true.
I moved into my new apartment and it is fantastic.
Super big. (like way way big)
lots of space in my room.

my roommates.
.....
Tiffany is from Florida.  She is 20. She is studying
landscape management and she
is such a sweetheart.  I think I am
going to love living with her.
*secret*: she is waiting for her mission call.
..
Rachel is from Texas.  She is 19.
She is studying Humanities.I met her last night
and I like her.  I hope the we become
good friends.
*secret*: Tiffany, Rachel and I all have the same swim suit:)
another *secret*: I think I might have to take up synchronized swimming
..
Sue is from Brazil.  I don't remember how old she is.
She is studying Musical Theatre.  fun.
*secret*: I hope to watch a musical or 2 with her.
..
Pricilla is also from Brazil.  She is 20. She is my
official roommate, but she hasn't
moved in yet.  We shall see
how things go.  Yes?
*secret*:  Pricilla has the most beautiful eyebrows and I am jealous.
..
Desiree is from Brazil.  She is 27.  She is
in her first year of her masters program and she
is delightful.  Last night, we (and Tiffany
and Rachel and the mouse in my pocket)
ate brownies and talked.
*secret*:  Desiree speaks Portuguese (obviously) beautifully.
She answered her phone and spoke in her native tongue,
and it made my day to listen to what a
gorgeous language that is.
..
what else?
went to church and felt like the youngest one there.
That's ok. I should be used to that by now, right?
*secret*:  so I think this has happened like 3 or 4 times.
a guy in the ward introduces himself.
Him: "Hi, I so-and-so from such-and-such city in Davis County."
Her: "Cool!  I'm Leslie and I am from Centerville."
Him: "No way!!  When did you graduate??"
awkward silence...
...
Her: "09?"
Him:  "oh. I graduated 04."
that is the "yay for being young" face

Chocolat...

So as many of you may know,
there are many things in this life that bring me joy.
Laying out, laughing, hand and foot, sewing,
reading, politics, family, the church, friends, redbud trees,
waterfalls, mountains, painting, yoga, etc.

But one thing that glues a smile to my face is
DARK Chocolate :)

Recently, my FHE parents gave me a Hershey's Special Dark bar,
I just finished it.  I thought I should be responsible in recording the
calories, and I saw that for an entire bar of heaven, there are only
180 CALORIES!  Is that not amazing???  Wow!
And 3 grams of Fiber!?  Ok, that is like better than cold cereal for
breakfast.

Also, sweet Jesse gave me an entire bar of
Godiva 85% Cacao... I can't wait to get started on that one!
(oh, this one is a little bit higher in calories, but one serving has
5 grams of fiber, 5 grams of sugar, and 4 grams of protein!)
amazing!
I think I will write them a letter and tell them how much I love them!
(the chololatiers that is)

Lately I've been walking around with this gigantic goofy smile just slapped straight across my face.
Goofy.
  Silly.

This is us Before :

Also, another thing has been making me uber-happy.
And his name is Jesse.

Easter Thoughts

Easter is my favorite holiday!  I love the feeling that comes when we set one day aside to think of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and what a marvelous blessing that is!

This Easter was somewhat difficult for me.  It was hard having Kenn so far away in Jerusalem and then some things with the outside relations were hard.  But I find it amazing that even though it was some what sad, I was still able to think of Christ.

Recently I realized what an incredible power the Atonement is.  There are some wounds that can only be healed through the Atonement.  There is a magnificent strength that comes through the Love of Christ.  That love enables us to overcome hatred, sin, fear, and temptation.  That love has helped me love those that I know I need to love, but would not be able to on my own.

I love my Savior Jesus Christ and know that he lived and died for me.  I am so grateful that I will one day live with him, my incredible, wonderful, awesome Brother, and the rest of my family that I love with all of my heart.

I am grateful for all of the wonderful examples that I live with that show me the Savior's love through their words and deeds.  My roommates and friends show me the way and my family guides me through their love. I love them all and thank my Heavenly Father for them. :)
